Many people with ailments try to combine treatment with natural medicines with traditional methods of treatment. In this article, we will consider the recipes of both the most famous folk remedies and those that you probably don’t know about.
Whether or not to be treated with the help of folk medicine, tinctures and decoctions, or to use only modern medicines, is up to you. There are always supporters and opponents of folk and traditional medicine. Our goal is only to provide information on how to get rid of this or that problem.
Headache
There are many remedies for headaches and migraines. The most effective folk remedies are cold compresses on the forehead and rubbing hands and thighs with cold water. Also, you can quickly get rid of a headache with the help of peppermint oil, which should be rubbed into the skin in a circular motion in the area of the temples. Those who do not like the smell of mint can use rosemary or lavender oil. In case of migraine attacks, inhalation with mint and lemon oils helps to get rid of pain. The least known, but no less effective recipe is violet vinegar. Recipe: dissolve 1 tablespoon of any honey in 250 ml of warm white wine, add 2 cups of fresh violet flowers and 250 ml of vinegar. Mix, pour into a bottle and infuse for two weeks. After two weeks, the infusion should be filtered. For headaches and migraines, take 1 tablespoon of violet vinegar and drink a glass of water.
If these remedies do not reduce the pain or if you are a supporter of traditional medicine, take Brufen for a headache. And with migraine attacks, Suminat should be taken. Suminat (Sumatriptan Succinate) is an oral medication prescribed to treat patients suffering from migraine headaches. It operates by narrowing blood vessels around the brain to reduce blood flow alleviating symptoms associated with this condition such as pain, sensitivity to light, or nausea. Note that it is only meant to treat migraines that have already begun and should not be used to prevent them from occurring.
Stomach problems
Paprika, thyme, mustard seeds, wormwood and pepper improve digestion. In some cases, fresh horsetail leaves and an infusion prepared according to the following recipe help to get rid of stomach pain: add 250 ml of boiling water to a mixture of half a teaspoon of cumin, fennel, chamomile and mint. Filter after 7-8 minutes. Drink a glass of this solution slowly.
But remember, if you have an ulcer or GERD, it is better to take certain drugs (for example, Zinetac) for stomach pain.
Pain in the joints
With rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, sprains or gout, it is recommended to apply a warm bag of hay to the painful joint for 30 minutes. After the procedure, rest for 30 minutes.
However, in this case, it is only an additional means to relieve pain. The main treatment for these pathologies is drugs – for gout, those that reduce the level of uric acid (Allopurinol-Apotex), for rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis, those that reduce inflammation (Apo-Diclo).
