Arcolane (Ketoconazole)
What is Arcolane (Ketoconazole) used for? Arcolane is an anti-dandruff shampoo. Arcolane can help prevent the itching, scaling and flaking associated with dandruff. It is also used often in conjuction with hair loss treatments like finasteride or dutasteride. Arcolane contains the active ingredient ketoconazole. This is an anti-fungal agent. How should I use Arcolane (Ketoconazole)? Wet the scalp and hair. Squeeze a small amount of Arcolane shampoo on the palm of your hand. Massage into a lather covering the hair and scalp. Rinse shampoo from hair with warm water and re-apply a second time if advised by your doctor. After rinsing, dry your hair and scalp. Your doctor will advise ho many times a week you should apply the shampoo. What are the side effects of Arcolane (Ketoconazole)? Your scalp may develop some irritation when using Arcolane, and could develop a rash or pimple-like bumps, dryness or oiliness. If think you are having an allergic reaction to Ketoconazole shampoo, contact your doctor as soon as possible. Please Note Arcolane is not inteded as a regular shampoo. It should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Arcolane (Ketoconazole) should not be used by anyone with allergies to anti-fungal medicines. |
