What is Efavir (Efavirenz) used for?

Efavir (Efavirenz) is an oral antiviral medication used to treat patients who have HIV. It operates by slowing the reproduction of HIV cells to allow the immune system to control the spread of infection. It should be noted that this treatment will not cure HIV and is only meant to prevent the deterioration of your condition. Your physician may also prescribe it to treat other unlisted conditions.

How should I use Efavir (Efavirenz) ?

Follow your physician's instructions while using Efavir (Efavirenz) to ensure the safest and most effective results from treatment. The typical dosage is one tablet taken once daily, but your particular directions will be based on your health condition and the severity of your symptoms.
