Urorec (Silodosin)
What is Urorec (Silodosin) used for? Urorec is used to treat men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Often as men get older, the prostate becomes enlarged can compresses the urethra. This can inhibit the flow of urine resulting in frequent need to urinate and/or urinary incontinence. Urorec is an alpha-adrenergic blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles of the prostate and bladder. How should I use Urorec (Silodosin)? Most people will benefit from a dosage of one 8mg tablet daily. Your doctor will be able prescribe a more individualized dose after an exam. Take the tablets swallowed whole with a glass of water. What are the side effects of Urorec (Silodosin)? Like most drugs, Urorec can sometimes result in some unwanted side effects. You may notice you develop headaches, dizziness, nasal congestion, ejaculation irregularities, or reduced blood pressure. If any of these become a concern, contact your doctor. You should also contact your doctor immediately if you have a prolonged erection or any signs of allergic reaction (rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing). Please Note Regular check-ups with your doctor will be needed when taking Urorec. They will want to check your prostate and blood pressure. Urorec is for men only. Women must not take this medicine. |
