Enacard (Enalapril Maleate)
What is Enacard (Enalapril Maleate) used for? Enacard (Enalapril Maleate) is a angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used to treat dogs with mild, moderate or severe heart failure. How should I use Enacard (Enalapril Maleate)? Enacard is usually prescribed according to the body weight of the dog. A usual dosage is 0.5 mg/kg taken daily. If desired effects are not being achieved after two weeks of treatment, this may be inreased to 1.0mg/kg Enacard may need to be taken in combination with furosemide and digoxin. Please Note The safety of enalapril in breeding dogs has yet to be established. Use of enalapril in pregnant bitches is not recommended. Enacard is a pet medicine. It should not be taken by humans. Take care to keep tablets out of the reach of children. If tablets are swallowed by a human, contact a doctor immediately. |
