What is Mometamax Otic Suspension (Gentamicin/Mometasone/Clotrimazole) used for? Mometamax solution contains Gentamicin sulfate (3mg/g), Mometasone furoate (1mg/g) and Clotrimazole (10mg/g). It is used to treat otitis externa in dogs - an inflammation of the ear caused by yeast or bacteria. The three ingredients in Mometamax provide antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal benefits to the dog. How should I use Mometamax Otic Suspension (Gentamicin/Mometasone/Clotrimazole)? Mometamax comes in a 30g bottle. The liquid drops should be applied into the ear of the dog. Dosage is weight dependant.
What are the side effects of Mometamax Otic Suspension (Gentamicin/Mometasone/Clotrimazole)? Mometamax is very well tolerated and side effects are rare. In some cases the dog may experience temporary loss of hearing or balance. Please Note Do not give Mometamax to pregnant dogs unless your vet is aware of this and decides that the benefits will outweigh the risks. Do not use in dogs who have ruprtured ear drums. Thsi medicine is to be applied to the ear canal. It is not to be ingested. |
